Today was a day where I went to return a gift I bought for a friend. I found that I became frustrated while doing this in the store. I did have a conversation before this that was a touch difficult. That conversation involved me mentioning my thoughts on a subject which ended up going into a very minor debate. I don’t debate anything. I don’t have a need to change anyone’s mind on any subject. People are free to choose whatever they desire or thoughts and behaviors they want. However, this lovely person felt challenged by my perspective and the facts that I stated. I had to mention that I allow everyone to be and think how they want to. Maybe this affected my frustration in the store I was in.
I wanted to return 5 items of clothing that did not fit which I purchased as a gift. The cashiers seemed like they were not very knowledgeable about the procedure of returns or effective customer service or how to listen or be diligent. When I was asked questions that I already gave the answers to, I became impatient. They were very slow and not very motivated to help me find the same items in a new size in that store or to try and find them in another store/warehouse. Anyway, I was becoming frustrated and trying to keep my voice kind. It was a challenge. Finally, I just got a refund and went home to order them myself with the options online which were easier to view on a computer.
So, I needed to re-tune my vibration to one of Love and Understanding. It was a very conscious choice. I don’t even know when I am getting frustrated until after it has been happening. This was a great time for me to practice raising my vibration. Our emotions are beautiful. Even the negative emotions are helpful. It is about contrast. They are there for us to check in with ourselves, recognize that we are not where we want to be and become aware of a need to move up the scale toward Compassion and Love. I did this as I was walking to my car. I even said … “Okay, this was a successful trip. I got a refund and I can go home and pick out what I need again.” Granted, I have to go back to the store to pick these new items up, but this may be a chance to really practice a loving attitude toward these seemingly unknowledgeable and unmotivated staff at that store. I don’t have to complain to a Manager or let my ego get in my way for my time I used. I am meant to go back. I will use this second trip to really practice Love, Compassion and Optimism. It is for my own growth and self-love. When I can love myself, then I can love others.
Have you gotten frustrated recently in a similar way? Have you been able to take a step back, breathe, consider your emotional state and realign to a better feeling and vibration? It is a wonderful opportunity to learn true Love of your brothers and sisters on this Earth. Remember, we are all the same. We are the Perfect Energy of our Creator. Even if someone is doing it differently, we can reassess that they are loved just as much by God as we are. We can love them this way too. This isn’t an easy process, but when we practice anything we become more skilled, better humans in applying Love and it becomes easier and easier to do.
It has been stated that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become an expert. The 10,000 hours theory comes from Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers. In his book, Gladwell never says that it takes 10,000 hours to become an outlier, he simply implies that 10,000 hours of practice results in being an extreme master at something, not just an expert. This is a figurative number. Maybe there is some actual research dictating the number of hours out there, but I think he is just making a point that an extreme amount of practice yields an extreme amount of skill. Just like the greatest athlete or musician with their skills from practicing thousands of times, we can also become Christ-like by our thousands and thousands of times we practice Love. The chore must be done a lot to get great. The amount we practice dictates the level of skill you have doing that thing. The good news is unlike and athlete that has a physical age that limits their abilities, we can continue to practice our whole lives. This is the Path to Love.
